\n> Ronny I already mentioned it to this list 2 months ago.
\n> It's in digest #187 with topic '01v96 gets a software upgrade' (12 dec 2003)
\n> And in fact I already knew this earlier because I got the scoop from R&D UK.
\n> But I kept it to myself until it was publicly announced.

\nSorry, I sent this to the wrong list. I remember you talking about it now. It started when I
\nmis-quoted Dave Shirk on the application on another forum. I had thought that he said on mini y's,
\nbut they are loaded into the mixers libraries. He corrected me though and I confirmed it from yammy.
\n
\n
\n> Still these effects are groundbreaking for the digital mixers and effect
\n> gear.
\n> The should reproduce a very well sounding reproduction of the original
\n> analogue effects that were modelled.
\n>
\n> Hence the price of this 'babies' will be pretty high.
\n> The price for the r96 series will be 449$ each. Besided upgrading your OS to
\n> version 2 for 250$ (approx)
\n> But I do hope they put in consideration that the v96 upgraded with all 5 of
\n> these packages would cost about the same.
\n>
\n
\nGee, at that price, I'm going to have to sell my analog board to get the dough for the analog plugs.
\n:O)
\n
\n
\n> And I seriously wonder if they are using this raw DSP power they can get
\n> nowadays to get working on emulating the analoge mixer effects well so that
\n> you can choose if you get the SSL summing emulation on your digital mixer.
\n>
\n> Also I heared about a rumor Yamaha was working on this mLan attachable FX
\n> unit that might feature the VCM (circuitry emulation) effects.
\n> Similar to the TC powercore firewire version. So you could expand the number
\n> of FX for you v96 even more with these modules.
\n>
\n> So there is plenty to come! :)
\n>
\n
\nCool.
