\n Bingo, the UK model is converting 230V and the US models are converting
\n110-120V. More heat on the UK models, it has to get dissipated, because the
\nactual stepped down voltage post power supply are the same on both models. I
\nknow that CPU's in PC's are temperature sensitive, but they've come along
\nway and are improving all of the time. I just don't think that it's the main
\nsource of heat and as you point out Tom, some heat is coming from most
\ncomponents. Dave may also be correct that the transformer in the v96 isn't
\ngoing to get real hot, but in my monitor amps, it's the hottest source.
\nOperating at 2000 watts with 3 speed fans, the high setting on the fan kicks
\nin when SPL gets up around 100dB, as soon as the tune is over, I can hear
\nthe fan on high for a few seconds and than cut down to a lower speed. The
\nheat buildup is directly related to how many amps and watts the unit it
\ndrawing at any given time. As long as the board is operating correctly, I
\nwouldn't worry about it being warm. Now when that sucker starts to glow red
\nit may be time to send it back, after roasting some marshmallows first, of
\ncourse. :O)
