\n\n\n----- Original Message -----\nFrom: \n spoony21male@...\n \nSent: Sunday, June 27, 2004 12:37 \nPM\nSubject: [01v96] Studio manager USB \n connection?\n\nHi all,
Im now the proud owner of a shiny new 01v96 but I'm \n having a few
problems connecting to it using studio manager.
I \n connected the v96 to my pc using a USB cable and my pc (Windows
2000) \n detected a new device. I put in the studio manager CD rom and
installed \n the USB driver ok.
I then installed studio manager software (version \n 1.2.0) and set up
the usb settings as described in the manual:
In: \n Yamaha USB in 0-1
Out: Yamaha USB out 0-1
Console device ID: \n 1
The connection status is still "Offline" and the MIDI setup floating \n
button is still present.
I've tried the re-sync menu option and \n restarted the program a few
times but I can't get the two of them to \n talk.
Any advice greatly appreciated.\n\n\nSounds like you've \n got it right on the PC. Do this on the console, if you haven't done it yet. Go \n to Display Access button DIO/SETUP>right pane says SPECIAL \n FUNCTIONS>Studio Manager line>Port assign to USB>ID assign to 1-1. \n That's all you need to do on that page, the rest leave default off \n until or if ,you hook up to a DAW or Protools via \n midi. You need to get SM talking to the console and vice versa \n first.\n\nIf you \n still "aren't" getting a green ON LINE at the top right in SM, above the \n stereo out meters. Go to Widows>Control Panel>Sound and Audio \n Devices>Hardware Tab>make sure that you see Yamaha USB Midi Driver \n listed>Highlight it>Properties>check to make sure that it says driver \n is working. It's a combination of these 3 things. The Midi Setup in SM, The \n USB Special Function enabled on the console and the driver in Windows being \n recognized.\n\nIf you are getting all of the above \n and still not getting sync between console and SM, it's possible that one of \n your DAW audio progs is set to default midi and overriding the \n USB connection. Open up your main DAW program and look for the Yamaha USB \n port options on the midi or sound cards I/O page, enable and make default. \n Good luck, if you still can't get it going, give us a shout and we'll try to \n think of something else.\n\nKeep On \n Trackin'\n\n------Ronny Morris - Digitak \n Mastering------\n
