\n\n\n----- Original Message -----\nFrom: \n Mark \n\n \nSent: Sunday, December 26, 2004 1:46 \n AM\nSubject: [01v96] Output Eq section \n 01v96\n\n\n
Im thinking of buying a 0v96 , and im wondering
right now we \n are having a lot of problems with 80hz , 100 hz
bass rumble , and are \n currently using a normal 31 band graphic eq on
the front of house \n mix
im wondering how flexible the eq section on the yamaha is
for \n the output section , and if it will enable us to stop using
the 31 band \n graphic on the FOH mix
i would really love to just have the effects / \n eq all from within the
yamaha i know its a 4 band parametric , will this \n be enough for a FOH
eq?
any ideas?\nSounds to me like \n the drummer sings, you are playing on a lot of wooden stages \n and you can't get the PA up real loud without low end rumble. If that's the \n case, the kick is going through the wooden floor up though the drummers mic \n stand entering his mic and going through the mains and looping back through \n his monitors, building and recyclinging until the rumble is constant, \n this comes out of the FOH, even though the FOH speakers aren't the speakers \n causing the rumble. Cut 50Hz all the way off on your graphic, move the \n drummers monitor where it will face the back of his mic or as close to the \n back as you can. Turn it back up. If the drummer ain't singing, don't \n jump real hard on the stage between the frontline mics and the kick drum \n unless you have some good health insurance. \n :O)\n\nI quit using rack \n graphic eq's when I bought my first 01v in 1998. You won't need any rack \n devices with the 01v96, if you decide to buy one, but it wouldn't stop kick \n drum/shitty build stages causing rumble loops through the monitors and \n mains, if you don't eq the mics correctly.\n\nTip regarding drummers that sing and \n use wedge to monitor themselves. Floor wedges on the floor tom side get \n blocked real bad. Wedge behind the drums offers the worst feedback rejection. \n Wedge on the floor, snare and hat side are blocked too. Place the wedge \n forward of the hat up high, where it's in the drummers face and you can lower \n the gain on it where feedback won't be a concern. Set it on a chair, \n turn wedge on it's side, so the wedge won't throw the sound up. Your \n drummer will be asking you to turn his monitor down before it feeds \n back.\n\n\nKeep On \n Trackin'\n\n------Ronny Morris - Digitak \n Mastering------\n
