Actually <that>\nmight work. It's 5volts. If you look at the Astyle flat connector, it's 1,2,3,4\nleft to right 1(red) is +voltage and 4(black) is ground. If you look at the\nBstyle square connector it's, 2,1 top 3,4 bottom left to right. So if you cut\nthe Astyle flat end off and wired in a Bstyle square connector it might work. I\nsay <might> because I don't know if the V actually provides 5volts AND/OR\nif it's OK to run that light. My guess, is that it probably is OK, <if>\nthe current draw is kept very low ( which I assume is why leds are used.
\n
\nAs to the leds not being bright, you might be surprised. I have a SureFire\naviator. It's got 3 leds and then a regular high intensity bulb if you need it.\nThe leds come on for reading and such and the other for lighting a room or\nblinding someone temporarily. This is in a small hand held running on 6v. The\nled light is quite bright in dark situations and could more than light up a\nlaptop or small dark area. I have used the led only function while working in a\npitch black attic installing electrical wiring. It was more than enough. The\nlight is bluish/white and very easy on the eyes so it doesn't ruin your night\nvision. I expect sureFire is quite a bit more advanced in their optics that a\n$12 led lamp, but I think this could be done. Might be nice if we knew what the\nV could deliver so as not to draw to much ( provided the 5v is present ). I can\ncheck that later if I can dig out my dmm. Just plug into the V and check the\ntwo outside pins at the other end of he cable ( that normally plug into\nthe PC ).
\n
\nBut it seems like it would work to me. From a hacks point of view that is.\nlarge grain of salt required.

\n\n\n\nIf you mean will it plug\ninto the V96... No, it's the wrong type connector. If you mean will it work on\na laptop or PC, then yes.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\nIt would be nifty if one had the\nsquare sided cable connector like the USB port on the v96 as I only use my USB\nport to connect to SM in the studio and it's open on live remotes, but I\nnoticed that it said LED light, can't be very bright. Do you know the voltage\nthat USB carries Tom? Also do you know if the power goes duplex on USB, or\nwould it have to originate from the flat connector side. Anyone know if it\ncould be gerry rigged to be used from the v96 square port?
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nThanks.
