\nExactly! It's bassackwards. :O)

\nThey will remains safe as long as the X is enable in the Global box
\nand also the Safe enabled.

\n
\nAfter further tweaking, I can't see where safe recall is stored in
\nScenes. The way it works is with the above param's enabled, any
\nchannel that is selected in the Safe Mode box will remain. So I can
\nswitch between any scenes that I want and the highlighted channels
\nwill retain all channel param's (eq, fader level, fx and dyn's)

\nSounds like you've got it, all settings will remain where you left
\nthem, when you
\nrecall the same scene or any other one, but total channel param's
\nif you have ALL enabled under mode. Or you can singularly select
\nFader, On button, Pan, EQ, Comp, Gate, Aux and Aux On button or any
\ncombination of them. The concept is great, the instructions suck.

\nIt's really quite simple once understood, but of course Yammy doesn't
\neven give you the simple step by step on page 168 of the v96 manual.
\nWhat I've been doing for example when wanting to keep settings on one
\nlayer
\n(1-16)and transfer them to a previously written scene, is highlight
\nthe Input channels that I want to keep and than change to the new
\nscene, than overwrite the old 1-16 settings to interface with the
\nsame settings that were on that scene in channels 17-32. Safe Recall
\nremains enabled through any scene change, until you disable it. So I
\nmade the mistake a couple of times of changing scenes, when I wanted
\nto keep certain channels on the next scene change. It seems to me
\nthat the Safe Recall is completely separate from any scene memory and
\nit won't store, but remains where you left it through any scene
\nchange.
\nI just tried writing a new scene with ch's 1-16, enabled in Input
\nChannel box. I enabled Safe Rcl and stored. Than went to an old scene
\nand back to the new scene and the channels that I selected are all
\nstill lit, but the Enable is now disabled. I don't think that it
\npertains to writing a new scene. Only changing between old ones,
\nbecause when I write a new scene the Safe box becomes disabled.

\nYep, it's been a bug up their ass ever since they made the first digi
\nconsole. :O)
\n
\nMy 01v manual looks like the Declaration of Independence, with regard
\nto the aging of the pages. :O) Thankfully much knowledge gained on
\nthe old V, carry's over to the new V.
