\n\n----- Original Message -----\nFrom: \n TB-AV\n \nSent: Thursday, December 04, 2003 10:23 \n AM\nSubject: Re: [01v96] Re: O1v96 arrives \n first impressions\n\nMy posts are showing up delayed so bear with me \n if I see like I'm on another planet.\n\nRonny, can you give me a basic , do this, this to \n get the inside of the return graphic to turn black? Are you talking about on \n the V itself right?\n\n\nYes, the round virtual knobs in \n the display, top right where the 4 "virtual" ST IN knobs are. It's a bit \n touchy to set Tom, compared to the 01v, due to the fader resolution. The fader \n and virtual knob resolution on the older V is 256, the v96 has 1024 steps. By \n using the parmeter wheel on the hardware board, you can fine adjust. Trying to \n set some parameters while in SM, it's hard to fine tweak as most mouse's, will \n overshoot, IOW, the mouse resolution is not at 1024, but much less, so \n you will often over compensate or under compensate. I've especially had \n problems trying to center pan's with the mouse. It wants to go past \n center with each move when you get around center. If you have any problems in \n SM fine tweaking param's, go to that page on the hardware \n mixer, enable the parameter and set the values with the parameter \n wheel. It will give you all 1024 steps with single clicks of the \n wheel.\n\nThis is a timely thread for me. I caught myself \n adjusting levels for the cascade yesterday. This thread has lifted the curtain \n a great deal.\n\n\nDefinitely leave all cascade \n auxes and busses disabled, unless you are cascading two or more V's. This \n means no blue balls in Input Patch editor in SM. It will come with time Tom, \n there are many difference's between the new and old V, but once you master \n this one like you did the old one, the comprehensive improvements \n will become more noticable and a better understanding of why Yammy \n implemented the difference's. Most are for the better.\n\nKeep On Trackin'\n\nRonny Morris - Digitak Mastering\n
