I'll step you through the way I did it. This worked for me but feel free to do something different if you see a better way. I use NHRC-4's. The controller shouldn't make any difference. Just make sure that the de-emphasis in the controller is strapped out. To make sure we are on the same page I am using a 19A129924G2 or G3 board G2 is rem/rep & G3 is remote only. Either one will work. Remove the Jumper from H1 to H2 see note 1. I assume you have a Channel Guard filter board plugged into J4 & J3. Remove R16, make sure H13 & H12 are NOT jumped (this is the normal repeat audio path). Take your audio out to the controller from D14 RX Notch filter output. If you are using a rem/rep board remove Q13 just to make sure you don't have two repeat audio paths. I also removed Q5 to prevent unwanted switching. On the TX side feed your controller output in A9. Remove the jumper from H7 to H8. Use the Remote PTT line in the station to key the repeater. This will turn on Q21 remote audio switch. This will give compression on the TX side, just don't go overboard with it. I mounted my controller on a GE prototype card & plugged it in J1212 (second from the left) of the control shelf. I had to make a jumper card for J1209 to bring RX & TX audio to J1212. I cut off an unused card that had the pins needed. Follow the pin numbers on a back plane schematic & it'll become clear. I did this because I was using the de-emphasis in the controller & a friend said it didn't have the "GE sound". After rewiring as above he said, "now that's it". Pictures of one of the repeaters are posted on GE-MastrII under Mastr II NHRC4 interface.
