Greetings to all:
\n
\nA friend of mine got an MPD from EBAY and it has the FCC ID of
\nAXA9WNTR-145B. He asked me to check the radio and program it. I told
\nhim I'll do my best.
\n
\nSo! Here we go. I place a charged battery on the radio and turned it
\non,when I did I heard the normal power up beep and then it started
\nbeeping constantly and had all Zero's on the LCD display. I said to
\nmy self I got a problem here.
\n
\nI pulled out my laptop for programming and TQ3310 and connected to
\nthe radio and thought I could read the radio and maybe get an Idea
\nwhat could be the problem.
\n
\nWrong !! I could not read the radio at all, So I tried to program the
\nradio using my program file that I use to program my own MPD radio of
\nthe same FCC ID. I connected everything up and it appeared to
\nhandshake correctly and a message came up something like SCAN
\nCG ?????? P1 . I can't remember exactly what all it said but that is
\npart of what I could recall.
\nI pressed Enter and continued to program. The radio took the program
\nand when all the reading and verifying was done I heard the Beep from
\nthe radio and I turned off the power and disconnected it from the
\ncable. I scrolled the display all was correct and then transmitted on
\nsimplex on 146.520 MHZ . It worked. SO Far , SO Good !!
\n
\nI then transmitted from another radio on the same frequency to see if
\nthe reciever is working. NOTHING, nada, Zilch. I'm not sure what the
\nproblem could be SO I'm asking for HELP!! Any Ideas??
\n
\nI'm not a repair guru and I too am learning these radio so Maybe
\nsomeone has ran across this issue and could direct me in the right
\ndirection to help this other person resolve his radio problem.
\n
\nI personaly think it might be a simple issue and may need to go back
\non the service bench with a service monitor and retune the reciever.
\n
\nAny Suggestions?
\n
\nPlease feel free to email me directly at spider24112@ yahoo.com
\nThanks in advanced ..
