Hello Group,
\nThanks for reading \nthis.
\nA couple of weekends ago, I purchased eleven GE Delta radios at a Ham flea \nmarket that were all still programmed \nin their commercial frequencies. \n Seven UHF, three VHF, one VHF Lo-Band radios and four S990 Control \nheads that I believe are \nprogrammed for the UHF radios .
\nUsing \nthe information from http://mindspring.com/%7Edchopper/s990/ , I was able to modify one Control Head to \nprogram new Ham band frequencies \nfrom the front panel. (The web site seems \nto be a bit flaky in that it doesn't seem to always be \navailable.)
\nWith this S990 Control Head mod, I could \nonly get the 6M transmit frequencies to \nprogram in the unit successfully.
\nI can program the VHF frequencies, but none of the \nControl Heads are able to download frequencies to any of the VHF radios. \nA long tone generates when ever I turn on the Control Head with these \nradios.
\nWhen I try to program UHF frequencies into the \nControl Head, the values change to something strange and the radios hold to the \noriginal commercial frequencies when I reset the Control \nHead.
\nThe web site mentions about requiring math to \nprogram some of the different radios, so I'm hoping that someone can give \nmore info on this. Does anyone out there have any experience in using this \nmethod of programming the GE Delta radio that can help me \nout?
\nThanks in advance.
