For the VHF radios, you might be encountering the Write-Block \n pin. There's a
jumper (I think it's J303) that, when grounded, \n prevents writing to the EEPROM.
Basically, the S990 writes new frequencies \n to the EEPROM whenever it's powered
on, or changes Modes.
BTW the \n website was down for me, can you send me the programming mods and
details \n for the S990?
