\n
\nAlthough I've no experience of the panel (or of trying this myself), I
\nsuspect it's neither. There are some standards, which seem to have some
\nthings in common with DVI-D, but I'm not sure that it's as simple as
\nsoldering a connector on the back.
\n
\nTry:
\n
\nhttp://www.vesa.org/Public/Panel%20Standards/StdPanel2.0.pdf
\n
\n(Or browsing around the other free standards on the VESA site.)
\n
\nThe conversion from DVI to the required LVDS signal is what the little extra
\ncircuit which was being sold with the Dell panel kit is for.
\n
\nAlternatively, some mini-ITX motherboards can drive LVDS panels directly,
\nbut I don't think they can do this kind of resolution (which is why I didn't
\nbring them up before).
\n
\nI should stress that I've only noticed the existence of these documents
\n(because I, too, would be tempted by some cheap 15" QXGA or WUXGA screens on
\nmy desktop), but that I don't know anything about making this work. If it
\nturns out to be easy, though, I'll be very interested!
\n
\nBest of luck, and I hope that helps.
