\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhey gang,
\n
\n
\nfinally got my VP2290b hooked up (one other one still in the box).
\nCould you guys tell me if I should go ahead and update the firmware?
\nCurrently I have (on one) :
\n
\n-1- 6.2 5.5
\n3 006 035
\n
\n-2- 001
\n
\nI don't know if that is current, and the new flashing via USB
\nprogram circa Dec 2002 doesn't tell me either.
\n
\nAlso, I have never installed an inf file for my LCD monitors, and
\nI've had many of them in the last 6 years. Where is that file, and
\nis it recommended.
\n
\nMy observation of the VP: Awesome resolution. I didn't need to
\nrescale my stock charts/fonts at all. I like them the size they are,
\nand they replace 4 19" and 1 24" LCDs and I still have almost 2
\nmillion pixels to spare! I don't like that anti glare coating at
\nall. I can see the 'grain' on them, especially since I need to be
\nabout 1 feet away to look at my charts. I tried surfing on it, and
\nthe fonts are just too small. I kept it at the same font size as
\nreading on my 1920x1200 17" laptop and 24"LCD. Bringing it up would
\nprobably be best. I had 3 web browsers up and didn't know what else
\nto put on the enormous screen. I think I could fit about 5 more
\nbrowsers lol. Brightness is good, I have it set at 10, I won't know
\nhow bright it is and have no comment on the colors (looks fine
\nuncalibrated) till I hardware calibrate it.
\n
\nI am driving one VP via my Dell 9300 laptop that has a 128mb ATI
\nx300 card. Works just fine. 13hz wasn't a bother for me. I probably
\nwould prefer faster, since the only annoyance is the mouse movement
\nnot keeping up.I also have a VTBook card, and will eventually get
\naround to trying to hook that up. EducationK12 has that same card
\nand can't get it above UXGA. Anyone else have any experience before
\nI start messing around with Powerstip?
