\n\tActually, going on the assumption that you want to use it for amateur
\n6-meter work, programming is only half the battle.
\n
\n\tFirst and foremost, you need to see if the radio is in the correct
\nbandsplit to allow conversion to 6. The only split that will adequately
\nallow this is 42-50MHz. The only way to determine this is to read the radio
\nwith the appropriate RSS, or to physically open it up and check the part
\nnumber on the RF board. It should be HLB4101. If not, you will not be able
\nto use it for amateur work.
\n
\n\tNext up, you will need to make some modifications to get the radio going
\non six. These mods include (possibly) hex-editing your programming software
\nso it will allow 6-meter frequencies to be entered; Realigning the VCO
\nafter you program your desired frequencies; And (probably) some
\nfine-tweaking of the output transistor's coils in the power amp, and
\npossibly a modification to add a manual power control pot.
\n
\n\tIn short: You're going to need a lab's worth ot test gear, and the skill
\nto use it.
\n
\n\tFull details on the Maxtrac and Radius line, including instructions for
\nthe conversion to six meters, can be found at this link:
\nhttp://www.batlabs.com/maxrad.html
\n
\n\tIf you feel that this is too overwhelming to take on by yourself, I can
\nperform the conversion for you at my normal shop rate. Drop me a note if
\ninterested.
\n
\n\tHappy tweaking.
