\n Subject: [Pro-97] Some Preguntas.....
\n
\n
\n and observations.....
\n
\n I just bought the 20-283... 800 mhz antenna from RS for my Pro97...
\n it has increased it's capability in receiving the 800 transmissions
\n for my home county PD... heck I got to monitor a chase that went from
\n Marietta s/b on I-75 to e/b on I-285 into Fulton and Dekalb
\n Co.s...then n/b on I-85 into Gwinnett Co... where the Perp crashed
\n near Indian Trail....a good 30+/- miles from my home.... couldn't
\n pickup the portable traffic but did hear everything from the vehicle
\n radios, etc.... decent chase, brought back many memories.....
\n
\n My first question is.... can you get a second Yellow Rechargeable
\n Battery Holder ? .... my rechargeables last about a day & a
\n half...during constant monitoring....less time when I use the
\n backlight.... I've looked around the 'new' RS site and couldn't find
\n an answer.... maybe GRE has an answer...but I'm sure someone on this
\n forum has addressed this before..... I hope.
\n
\n After using Win97 to program.... I've attempted to monitor my county
\n PD, plus at least 4 municipalities near me in the south end of the
\n county.... I attempted to assign the checks to monitor those agencies
\n but I'm only able to monitor the 2 larger cities and not the other
\n two.... but since the entire county is pretty active, I can't believe
\n I can't pickup the smaller cities PDs.... and I live closer to them
\n than the 2 larger.... How can I program to monitor those two??? I
\n realize that is a pretty broad question and maybe unanswerable unless
\n you were actually sitting down with me and plugging in the right
\n selections/numbers etc..... Note: the entire county & municipals are
\n on the same trunked Mot II system.......
\n
\n I've ordered the Kenwood knobs to help my fat fingers to be able to
\n twist the volume and sqealch (sp?) independently.... but the Calif
\n company says they are now on back-order...maybe too many forum
\n members ordering them ????? The price was right for the knobs...but
\n the shipping & handling is a killer....
\n
\n Maybe someone knowledgeable can put together a file for download in
\n this forum to tell 'noobies' how to program their brandi-new 97...how
\n to access RadioRef...& Starrsoft.com etc..... & cityfreq.com,
\n etc.... to keep our stupid questions down to a minimum..... just a
\n thought to help out....
\n
\n Thnx for listening to my rambling.... please answer the ???s... I am
\n curious....
