\n I have tried this, and it seems to work, except for this example: If I
\n program in the first frequency in 201, LTR mode, and watch it in manual
\n mode, I will detect a transmission that is identified 0-20-169 R24. I then
\n move the frequency in 201 to 224, LTR, and watch it in manual mode. The
\n next transmission may read 0-20-169 R12. Does this mean the same frequency
\n has to be programmed into several different channels? Is this an indicator
\n that this system is constantly rotating repeaters to make it difficult to
\n track?

\n I would program all 10 freqs in any order and set the mode to LTR. If you
\n hold on a channel in manual mode, when there is traffic or sometimes an
\n "idle message" it will display the area code-home repeater-user id and
\n repeater number that frequency is. If all 10 freqs have good, decodable
\n idle messages, you should know what each frequency's repeater number is in
\n short order. Then program the freqs in the corresponding channel of a bank,
\n and you should be good to go. If the system doesn't have idle messages on
\n all channels or your 97 doesn't decode them (they will show up as id #255),
\n you will probably have to wait for some voice traffic on every freq to get
\n everything in order. You may notice a pattern if you get a few, especially
\n if it happens to be 800 Mhz.

\n I am trying to program the LTR system used by the City of Dothan, AL, and
\n need help. It seems that if I use the repeater locator feature while
\n manually listening to single frequency, and then jump to the noted channel
\n and program in the frequency, that a new repeater number will appear. Is
\n it
\n possible that a single frequency may have to be programmed onto several
\n different channels (or repeaters)? I assume that the channel number and
\n repeater number have to be identical (according to the manual). Also, I
\n believe that Dothan has 10 repeaters, but I am not sure. Also, assuming
\n all
\n repeaters are programmed correctly, I assume all the remaining frequencies
\n (as listed in Police Call) have to be programmed in (no regard to order or
\n channel assignment I also assume) for it to track the conversations. What
\n about the delay - on or off?
