\n Hi Alan,
\n sorry about my response to Dan Worley's response, I didn't mean to be rude
\n but it did crack me up.
\n
\n I found the following by searching for "Western Digital" on the Mackie HDR
\n Forum.
\n
\n Have a look at the drive lists thread. Some WD drives make it but all under
\n 30g.

\n
\n Mike Rivers had this to say about WD 40g drives in the last post from the
\n thread.
\n "That Lil' Ol' Hard Drive Issue - Again"
\n www.mackie.com/scripts/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000647
\n and also in "Another one for the (not) Hard Drive List"
\n www.mackie.com/scripts/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000903
\n
\n N.J.Y makes a comment in the last post of "Western Digital 40 Mb hard disks
\n working?"
\n www.mackie.com/scripts/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=001881
\n
\n I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but it doesn't look good :-(
\n Bye 4 now,

\n
\n Problem: bought a few Western Digital hard drives. 40GB each. Placed
\n jumpers on the drives to limit them to 32GB. Placed in the HDR and hit the
\n format command...format to be a 1.96GB size!!!. I can't get it to read
\n higher size.
\n Any ideas?
