\nWelcome aboard, Mark. A couple of suggestions to get you oriented:
\n
\nFirst, read the manuals, including the Technical Reference for the
\nHDR24/96 that you can download from the Mackie web site. They're
\npretty good tutorials on the multitrack recording process, and will
\ngive you some ideas about how to connect your gear.
\n
\nSecond, start saving your pennies for a patchbay. Since the 8-bus
\nconsole has only 8 bus outputs plus its direct outputs, and the HDR
\nhas no provisions for routing inputs to tracks internally (it was on
\nmy wish list!), you'll find that you'll get mighty tired of moving
\ncables around after you've filled up the first eight tracks.
\n
\nI'm an analog guy myself, dragged kicking and screaming into the
\ndigital world.
