Hi guys & gals,
\n\n\n\n
I joined the list earlier this week. I have\nan SG20 bought reconditioned with a 90 day Toshiba warranty. It was a great\ndeal off eBay, well, it was cheap for the UK where I live, anyway. It\ncame with 2 x 40Gb drives and the wireless option already installed.\n

Anyway, I’ve read through the whole\nemail archive and have to thank those who have posted details of their memory\nupgrades. I’ve just ordered 1Gb of Crucial’s best and have made an\noffer on a PIII 1GHz chip on eBay… then I thought again. I’ve seen\nsome of you have upgraded to Celeron 1GHz chips but what about PIII chips? It\nhas the right core voltage (1.75v) but I have sort of lost my nerve on this\none, although it’s no real problem as it’s so cheap.

Another thing, anyone found a way to stop\nthe LCD panel from reporting a problem with the processor on boot-up?

I’m a Linux ignoramus so I’ve\njust got hold of an old PC to try a few installs on. Expect more interest early\nin the new year once I can join in. At the moment I’m using it as\noriginal installation but your previous discussions have whetted my appetite\nfor tweeking.

Cheerio,
