Installation of the Hostap-Driver for Prism-based WLAN-Cards
============================================================

Start the Admin-Web-Desktop

  - Chosse the tab "Services", then press "Upgrades".
  - Press Button "Advanced".
  - Chosse "Perform a manual upgrade", then press "Next".
  - Press Button "Search...", navigate to the update-file and select it.
    Press Button "Install selected Upgrade".

Repeat this step for the second update 

It may happen that the end of the upgrade process is not shown in the web interface. 
It's possible to check the succes of the upgrade under "Reports" -> "Upgrades".

Updates must be installed in the following order:
	wireless-tools-23-2.i386.rpm
	hostap-0.0.3-sg20.1.i386.rpm

The source package hostap-0.0.3-sg20.1.src.rpm should not be installed, 
it is only for developers.


Insert the WLAN-card and configure through admin-web-desktop.


Known Problems and Issues:
==========================

Some of the wireless settings are without any effect:
	- "Distance between access points"
	- "Multicast-Rate"

In the Data Encryption dialogue only Key 1 is saved and used. All other keys 
will NOT be used.

The advanced option "Reject clients using the network name ANY" is only
functional with a Prism based card with firmware >=1.6.3

The status display of the wireless network is broken. Although it works fine, the status page shows a problem. A solution for this is on the way.



Removal of the update packets
=============================
The update packets can be removed from system through a terminal application
(e.g. telnet or PuTTY.EXE (recommended)).
The RedHat packet manager allows to remove the packets easyly and completely
the system.
Login as user "root", the password is the same as of user "applianceadmin".
Hint: the default password of the users "root" and "applianceadmin" is
  "toshiba" and will be changed automatically to the password of the first user
  created with the admin desktop.
To delete packages, enter the following commands:
	rpm -e hostap
	rpm -e wireless-tools
Close your terminal session with
	exit
